GREATER NEW ORLEANS SENIOR OLYMPICS

BERNICE BORDELON has introduced the new GNOSO Program Director to the Executive Board. GNOSO - in gearing up for the 2008 Games - takes Immense Pride in welcoming Rusty Berridge (so dubbed because of her red hair) as our new Program Director. Rusty moved from Atlanta to New Orleans over 12 years ago and has held various jobs in the special events field in New Orleans working at the New Orleans Museum of Art, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and lately with the Broadmoor Improvement Association. Before coming to New Orleans she worked 18 years for Eastern Airlines in various jobs such as training and supervising but primarily as a Sky Goddess (flight attendant). You will always be able to find Rusty at any event because she wears bright and fun hats so she is easy to pick out of the crowd for help. Rusty is currently working part-time as the Development Director at the Free Church of the Annunciation in New Orleans . Don't hesitate to email or call her with good ideas or fundraising ideas. Her email address is rusty.berridge@gmail.com or her cell at 601-918-8625 (she still answers to the term "Goddess").

Currently the GNOSO staff is working out of individual homes - so if things look awry or don't go right, it may be because everything is being done piecemeal - but the staff is gearing up for the games.

NEWS FLASH! This just in!
The venue for Bridge has been identified. Bridge will be played at Lakeshore Playground, in the Golden Age Center. The address is:
1125 Rosa Avenue, Metairie, LA 70005

Bernice Bordelon Bernice, a MULTI-SPORT Gold Senior Olympian and Louisiana Senior Olympics Hall of Famer, is the driving force behind Greater New Orleans Senior Olympics. Without Bernice, there would be no GNOSO.

Bill Pryor A tennis player - not an athlete - is helping out as much as possible - learning on the fly. Trying to set up a workable web site and keep records of the results.

John Wolken GNOSO President. Executive, front-office, but hands-on as well.

Thais Lacrouts Volunteer extrordinaire and Gal-About-Olympia, Thais is another MULTI-SPORT Gold Medalist and Event Coordinator.

Janie Witt-Perez Janie is another (soon-to-be) MULTI-SPORT Gold Medalist Senior Olympian. Janie is the Recording Secretary for the organization, and has a HUGE impact on the scheduling of GNOSO venues for the individual Event Coordinators.

The NEXT Big Story Stay tuned - GNOSO Event Coordinators are going to have a LOT to say, soon.
